Chest Acne Treatments: How To Get Rid Of Chest Acne

By

Chest acne can be a terribly painful condition to be afflicted with. Most people really don't like the look of this type of acne and want more than anything to have it removed from them. They will try all sorts of treatments to get it removed and can feel very sad about their physical appearance as a result. This is a very sad condition for most people to live and I would not want to wish this on anyone.

There are many problems with chest acne above the simple cosmetic issues. However, it is the cosmetic issues that most people think about when they think of all the bad things about having zits on your chest. They think about the big red marks and the unsightly white heads that are home to *** liquid just waiting to be released from its prison of flesh and blood. They want to squirt free. But giving in tot his temptation is a sure fire way to succumb to the second great cosmetic evil associated with chest acne - scar tissue.

Often times the popped zit is going to leave a poch mark or scar on the skin that once acted as the puss' prison. The scar is a reminder of what is to come for all skin that willing houses infection that requires the white blood cells to congregate inside the pore of an individual's chest.

Aside from these obvious cosmetic issues there are the medical and psychological issues associated with this condition that can be very serious indeed. Chest acne can sometimes be the result of a chemical imbalance induced by synthetic substances being introduced into the body - mainly steroids. If steroid use by and individual is unchecked they can have much more serious side affects than some zits appearing on their chest.

Another problem that can arise with a severe case of chest acne is mild to severe depression. If an individual cannot come to grips with the fact that they are much more than just eh way their body looks then they are going to have a hard time adjusting to life with chest acne. Fortunately, having a good support system at home and among friends can really mitigate these psychological affects of severe acne on a person's life.

To be honest, chest acne impacts boys and girls very differently. Girls generally identify their worth and value with their physical characteristics. If they are not physically beautiful by the standards around them (which today is mostly magazines, the Internet, and television) then they feel that they don't have a lot of worth as a person. This is terrible and it should not be that girls are under such terrible societal pressure to conform to a sterile and tame understanding of beauty. Chest acne does not strip a woman of who she is and should not mean that she is without worth.

Boys generally view their acne as something that will hurt their chances with girls. If they can't get a girl then they must not be man enough to do so. Men are able to get girls and therefore their chest acne is making them less of a man. This can definitely hurt how they feel aobut themselves and cause them to shy away in social situation where they would normally be happy members of the conversation.

These responses generally lead to a search for treatments to get rid of chest acne. This is okay, but there are other things that a teenager who suffers from this condition should do instead. They should focus on the character issues going on inside them while they have their chest acne. They need to learn that they are not their chest acne and that it shouldn't make the afraid or self conscious. They are who they are and they should be proud of that. Conformity is for sissies and a teen with chest acne has a great opportunity to grow up and mature faster than their peers.

So you shouldn't be ashamed of your acne in your search to find a treatment that works.

Also, you should definitely not pop your zits. I know it is fun and that it is a great way to pass some time when you are bored. It can even relieve some of the pain that the zits cause as they grow and fester just beneath the skin. But popping zits just leads to more zits and will cause scars to form on your chest. Your puss is better off inside your skin where it can be taken care of naturally.

This leaves us with the two main ways that you can get treat your chest acne:

  1. Out grow your chest acne - this is true, if you are patient enough (think years, not weeks) you can see your chest acne disappear. This certainly isn't true for every acne sufferer, but is is true for a lot of them. While this doesn't sound like much of a treatment it is actually really good advice. This will not last forever. It will go away.
  2. Treat your chest acne with some type of medication. There are tons and tons of different acne treatments out on the market today from ProActive to numerous Neutrogena products, etc. Find one that works for you and your skin type.

Also, acne is sometimes a product of poor, toxic diets. If you clean up the way that you eat and let your body purge a lot of the toxins that you have consumed in your life some people see immediate clear ups of otherwise severe chest acne.

You raise some very valid points as far as chest acne is concerned. We have a tendency to downplay both the physical and psychological torment which acne, especially in these less publicly visible areas, can cause. Popping, as you've stated, is not the answer. A gentle and ongoing approach is.
