Motorcycles travel at very high speeds. Since they do not have a windshield, the full force of the air is felt on the body. Most of the time, people who drive particularly fast can avoid all of this wind blasting because they are wearing a helmet that will protect them from the wind. This can be a full face helmet or just a helmet that lets you wear goggles or one with a wind shield. But what if you don't wear this type of motorcycle helmet? How can you be able to see and not lose your glasses to the wind?

The answer is simple, buy prescription motorcycles glasses.

When you buy this type of glasses you are getting more than just simple perscription glasses, you are getting something that is going to stay on your head and protect your eyes from getting blasted by the wind.

Here are a few reasons why you should want to protect your eyes from the wind with prescription motorcycle glasses:

  • Protect your eyes from particulate matter. When you are riding your motorcycle and something gets in your eye you can get in some very big problems. You could even get into an accident and lose your bike and your life. That is why when you are riding your bike, but especially when you are riding on the freeways and highways, that you need to keep your eyes protected. If you aren't using a full face helmet or a helmet with a visor than keeping your eyes protected from road debris is going to be one of the most important things your glasses are going to do.
  • Prevent you glasses from getting blow off your face. Another thing special about motorcycle glasses is that they are designed to stay on your face even when you are traveling at high speeds. This is key for several different reasons. The first is that if you lose your glasses you are going to lose your debris protection. That would be bad. The second is that the act of losing your glasses could distract you from your driving and lead to a motorcycle accident. Nobody wants to get into a motorcycle accident.
  • Ensure that you are going to be able to see when riding your motorcycle. If you go with prescription motorcycle glasses you are going to get the benefits of the two things mentioned above and you are actually going to be able to see when you are riding your bike. Being able to see is huge and it might be required by law for you to wear prescription glasses when driving if it is on your license. You want to obey all laws if you are going to be riding your motorcycle.

Here are a few different things that you might want to think about when buying your prescription motorcycle glasses:

  • Do not get prescription motorcycle sunglasses. Sunglasses, though very cool normally, should not be worn while riding at night. If your only pair of motorcycle glasses are sunglasses then you will not be able to ride your hog after the sun goes down or before the sun comes up. How lame would that be?
  • Find a style that is comfortable to wear for long periods. Sometimes you will have to wear these glasses for hours on end. Make sure it fits well on the bridge of your nose and on your ears. Discomfort here could make very uncomfortable rides.
  • Find a style that stows easily. Unless you wear your motorcycle glasses when you aren't riding you are going to have to stow them somewhere. If they are too bulky or big you won't be able to stow them easily and this will be a hassle.
  • Get something you feel good wearing. Does it look good? Then wear it well!

Buying cheap prescription motorcycle glasses can be tough.  Prescription glasses generally cost lots of money and have all sorts of things that would prevent you from getting them cheap.  But it is possible if you look hard enough and wait long enough for the right deal to come along.
