Quality Resin Patio Furniture

When you think of resin patio furniture you are probably thinking of something that is thin, wobbly and soft - right? Well if you are one of these people you obviously haven't gone out and seen what some of the modern resin manufacturers can create with this versatile and inexpensive product.

One of the innovations of today's resin market is that the manufacturers realized that people are going to want a certain look and feel to their outdoor furniture. People want something with substance but that isn't too heavy that it cannot be easily moved by most people. Most people find this with wood or wicker patio furniture, but a similar experience can be had with something made of resin as well. This has had the effect of turning most resin furniture into something that resembles a painted wood or wicker finish.

The materials used in the construction can sometimes vary, depending on the manufacturer. Some companies are going to produce furniture made out of a HDPE, a high density, strong, and flexible polyethylene plastic. The strength of the plastic makes it great for load bearing furniture because it easily supports the weight of people or things resting on them. The density of the material is the source of this strength and also gives patio furniture made of this material "sturdy" and "more solid" to the touch. The flexibility of this material also helps to make it so that the resin furniture doesn't break or snap under normal use conditions. How terrible would it be to snap the leg off of a patio chair as you drag it across the floor? Terrible, and resin give the furniture the flexibility that it needs to avoid this outcome.

Another key ingredient put inside this caliber of patio furniture is UV protection. This is incredibly important for two main reasons:

  1. UV rays can damage the color of a piece of furniture - Aside from getting a patio awning, one of the most important things that you can do to protect the color of your furniture is to make sure that it has some type of UV protection on it. There is nothing worse than having a lovely piece of furniture "ruined" because it gets more sun than all your other pieces and therefore changes color much faster than the rest of your furniture. Resin patio furniture usually comes with this UV protection standard, making it a great fit for a patio with a motorized retractable awning or even no patio awning at all.
  2. UV rays can damage the feel of a piece of furniture - Have you ever felt the gritty feeling that some plastic chairs get after being left out in the elements for extended periods of time? It feels pretty grainy and gritty. Some of this is because of the exposure to dirt which leaves small scratches on the face of the furniture. But another key reason for this feeling is that the plastic is beginning to be broken down by the relentless rays of the sun. Again, the only way to completely avoid this is to go out and purchase a patio awning to keep your patio in the shade year round, but you can also achieve some protection by getting UV treated resin furniture.

Finding Cheap Resin Patio Furniture

Because of the improved quality of the resin furniture that is being produced, you probably are going to have some difficulty finding an extremely high quality resin patio chair or patio table for "cheap." What I mean by cheap here is having a low, low price.

While you may not be able to find something that is "cheap," you are probably going to be able to find something that is going to be affordable and of a high quality. You might be able to classify these as "deals" or as "frugal" or as a "good investment," but you probably won't be able to classify them as cheap.

When picking the right furniture peices for your patio or deck you are going to want to make sure that it meets a couple simple criteria before going through with your purchase:

  • Do you feel comfortable in the furniture?
  • Do you like the way that it looks?
  • Does it fit will with your other patio pieces?
  • Does it fit within your predetermined budget?
  • Is now a good time to buy?

If you can answer all three of these questions in the affirmative then you are going tobe able to buy your resin patio furniture without any problems.  But if for some reason you find yourself saying "no" to any of these questions - but especially the budget and comfort questions - then you should seriously reconsider your decision.  Having patio furniture that you can be happy with is an important priority for you and your family so make sure that you can make the purchase and still be happy for the long run at the same time.
